Memphis

Are we still playing them tonight?

Memphis has ZERO wins over a team with an RPI in the Top 100. I watched the OU game and they looked impressive, so tough call on this team. Not sure if OU is just not very good or Memphis found their stride.

They did take McNeese to the woodshed with a 104-65 win.

Seems like if we can contain both Lawsons, the fire power starts to slow down. Easier said than done. Especially with our lack of depth. Feels like Sterling is going to pick up two quick fouls.

I saw we are favored, but we never seem to play well in Memphis. Different team, coach....so that should not factor, but the history is not good.

Go Mustangs!

Memphis has 3 really good players in Dedric Lawson, KJ Lawson, and Markel Crawford...we also have a point guard who will try to distribute it to one of those players, or try and get to the foul line.

that's it...but they're well coached...I will give em that.

I've not been that impressed with KJ. Last season it always seemed like he forced things and took ill advised shots. Maybe Tubby has him playing under control now?

Tubby has finally gotten KJ to look for the open man BEFORE he decides to attack or shoot his own shot...he's good at feeding the ball to Dedric...but if Memphis gets up, he's bad about returning to his ball hog ways.

I personally think we will beat Memphis.Should be a good game though. Tubby is clearly a good coach and will have Memphis back to being a contender soon. I just think we have 1-2 more weapons than Memphis this year and neither team is deep. Is Deadric Lawson supposed to be a 3-4 year player or will he be looking to go pro after this year?

When I saw Lawson last year he did not look very quick. He did have good skills though for a big.
