Harry, you forgot to add - "Here's hoping they don't catch fire against us."

Yes. First day of classes is January 23. Since Rush will be going on, hopefully the students will show up for the UConn game on the January 19 and Houston on January 21.

It's an incredibly small sample size, but we're grabbing 51% of all available offensive rebounds in conference play. Defensively we're allowing opponents to recover only 19.7% of available offensive rebounds (cleaning up 80.3% of available defensive rebounds).
Just absurd.

The thing that worries me about this team is that we have halves where we can't shoot at all and only score because of second chance points. There will be a game this year where we have an under 20 point half because we can't get an offensive board.

Remember the days when Doherty would not let our guys go for offensive rebounds?

I've read findings from analytics-based studies that say going for offensive rebounds is not a sound statistical strategy and that getting back in order to get your defense set up (e.g., not giving up easy buckets) is optimal. I think that there's merit to that strategy, but I believe that the pendulum may have swung too far in some cases.

I think there is a place for analytics, but in this case there are too many easy second chance points available to at least try in my opinion.
