Down 44-18 at half.

One thing I didn't realize until today is smu also has a former national player of the year on staff as an assistant.

About 70% full. UCONN started with about a 22-0 run. Good Pony response since then.

Maybe 75% full, as much as some men's games.

I think I heard announcers say 3100 tickets sold whole SMU women's average about 700. I am sure Geno would want the AAC to produce better competition.

I went and left at the end of the first quarter with UCONN up 26-2.
Total mismatch in athleticism, shooting and passing ability, and quickness.

I can't imagine it's much fun for UCONN to blow the AAC competition out. Really boring watching a complete rout. Glad SMU was able to score some but you have to believe UCONN has the bench playing early.

They only have nine players and a tenth is in a boot. SMU has twelve on the roster. I guess women don't have 13 scholarship players like the men?

Division 1 Men's Basketball teams can have 13 players on scholarship.

Division 1 Women's Basketball teams can have 15 players on scholarship.

Currently, SMU has 13 players on scholarship. One player is hurt and out for the year, and one player is sitting out this season after transferring from another university.

Good info. kc711 or other, if women can have 15, why does SMU only have 13 on 'ship and why would UConn only have 10? Maybe UConn has some transfers sitting out or they have some that left the program but I'd guess the Geno gives all the players plenty of playing time due to all of the blowout wins. With only two seniors on ten on the roster, this seems as "down" as UConn might be for a while.

they can probably offer more to help meet Title IX requirements requiring comparable equality in scholarships among Men and Women athletic programs. 85 football scholarships for Men's Football makes that difficult
