I was really excited about SMU pursuing him. But if Dement can get this team playing consistently. Maybe just maybe they can get to the NCAAs and Dement can get a new contract.

I thought the exact same thing. His background...especially his success at GW-suggests he could really work well in a situation like SMU. As I recall, GW had a couple of sweet sixteen finishes and were consistently top-25. Meanwhile, I have no idea how the Ponies pulled off the Purdue game. I saw the Ponies down here vs. UTPA, & Purdue in Indianapolis vs. C. Michigan, which they won by 40. It's hard not to give Dement some credit.
