I wonder how SMU's stack up compared to the rest of the AAC, the rest of Texas, and in general to the nation.

SMU's practice facility is very nice, and as I recall, professional basketball teams have been complimentary of it. As for a couple of comparisons, SMU's practice facility has separate basketball courts for the men's and women's teams. The Duke facility has two courts, but they are not separated. They are alongside each other in the same large room. Additionally, Georgia Tech has only one practice court in its basketball practice facility. Georgia Tech's facility was built after SMU's. Duke's and SMU's are about the same age.

Ours recently underwent a major facelift. Brand new lounge area with kitchen, flat screens, games, etc. and locker room for the men. New branding along the corridors and new banners in the gym. Offices are next on the upgrade list.

That's also an old article, as Drake's facility has been completed for a while now.

Yeah, its definitely an older article from 2015. I have been following the program since my time at SMU but haven't seen the inside of Crum or the various practice facilities beyond the youtube interviews. I can't wait until we start racking up tournament wins and players in the NBA so that we can put those achievements on display.

How would you know anything about buildings at Drake anyway?

Slightly off topic but in reference to banners- I didnt like how we took down the banners in Moody and instead display all of those achievements on the ring underneath the suites now. I wonder if the banners were obstructing views in the top rows and that's why they took them down and moved them?

I agree about the banners. Now the "accomplishments" are virtually hidden behind patrons in the arena and, in effect, forgotten. I miss the banners hanging from the rafters.

They were obstructing the view. I hope they figure a better way to hang them. probably needs to be closer in the center.

I would wager that Smusic has set foot on most every square foot of land on the entire planet. Seeing Drakes facility would be an afternoon stroll for him.

I like the wall, I think it looks good, but the banners need to come back as well. That's a basketball tradition. Need the final four banner, conference titles, NCAAs, at least hung back up.
