In a pre-game press conference yesterday, Mick Cronin said Semi is the best in the league and it isn't close.

Seriously I don't see how it can even be close at this point.

Agree, Semi is POY and first team AAC, pretty much guaranteed.

I am wondering though, who else makes it? In my mind, Sterling and Shake should be first team AAC as well, but AAC writers may balk at putting 3 SMU players on first team.

In that case, nod should go to Brown....SMU deserves 3 players on first team, but if we only get two, should be Semi and Sterling.

I'd be shocked if Semi got it. Lawson was the frontrunner. Doubt we get 3 in a row

Would have to think Semi is the frontrunner or at least top 2. Especially if we are regular season champs or co-conference champs would think he would get it. Only other person they could give it to is Lawson at Memphis. Them losing to Temple today likely doesn't help his cause, because unless they finish 3rd and he gets his average up to 20-10 I think you have to go with Semi.

Great point about Jank he should no doubt be American coach of the year.

Just so nobody forgets, the preseason American coaches poll:

2016-17 AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
PRESEASON COACHES' POLL

Team (First-Place Votes) Pts.
Cincinnati (6) 95
UConn (5) 94
SMU 76
Houston 75
Memphis 63
Temple 56
East Carolina 39
UCF 37
Tulsa 34
USF 25
Tulane 11

Couldn't SMU sweep 1st team AAC at each position? Asking for a friend.

I like how your "friend" thinks.

Just from watching the AAC a decent amount I would guess the First team is something like: Semi, D. Lawson, Shake, Adams, and Gray (with potential for Dotson, Evans, Sterling, or Washington to replace any of the latter 3).

I bet Shake is not first team. He does not seem to get the recognition he deserves.
