Emelogu deserves his own thread because he was a huge reason for our win tonight. Forget the fact that he got our ONE signature alley up "thunder dunk" tonight, or that he hit crucial threes, touching nothing but net, or his defensive effort that stymied the Bearkats......Well, don't forget all of that, but also, he played with great emotion, fired the ponies up, fired the crowd up.

I know he has taken some heat in the past on his shooting percentage, but tonight, we don't win that game without him.

I look for him to establish himself and keep gaining minutes.

Yes, threads about him before today were usually negative (hope I didn't pile on in any of these threads, I may have, but hopefully not).

Great to see him have such an awesome game and be the difference maker on such a huge stage.

He stepped up and delivered when it mattered.

i was a critic early - and am happy to say he has grown into a fantastic player. His shooting is as good as anyone and he brings great athleticism.

Justin Anderson (now with mavs) who played at UVA was sitting in front of me. I asked him if he had played against Ben when Ben was at Va Tech. He said he remembered him and that he was awesome there, played just like this every night.

A better thread would be all the [deleted] haters signing in and apologizing to Gu, specifically analytics turds who could never really find an algorhythm to make sense of how good he actually is. Those who chimed in that he should grad transfer after this season deserve a PF ban for a month

Best game of his SMU career last night. No way we win that game without him. I still get nervous every time he shoots the ball, but I can acknowledge that there is no way our team would be doing this good without him. Last night he didn't force up any shots and played some great defense, especially during the 21-2 run, I can remember when we cut the game to 3 and then he caused a turnover right in front of the Cinci bench. Our guys stay calm during most games, but its exciting when our guys let their excitement show and get the crowd into the game!
