Looks like the ladies were indeed invited to the WNIT as an at-large selection. Nice upward trajectory for Travis Mays.

that's good news. Did not realize the WNIT was 64 teams. I wish the men's NIT was 64 teams and they would eliminate the CBI and CIT Tourneys.

Good new, bad news. The good news is we host a game, the bad news is our game is on Friday so I do not expect very good attendance with most of our biggest fans in Tulsa on Friday. Nice problem to have though.

As a season ticket holder for both programs, it's really sorry that the games are on the same day in different cities - especially when Wednesday & Thursday were both options for the ladies. Add this to the list that the NCAA does everything it can to make things difficult for SMU Athletics and our fans.

It really is a shame the game has to be Friday night.
But such a great start to what looks like it might be a quick turnaround for that program!!!!

SMU beats Louisiana Tech 75-70 in OT to advance to the second round of the WNIT! We will face Abilene Christian in the second round as they knocked out Oklahoma State.

So this makes up for the men's team, right?

Interesting win. SMU offense struggled a lot in the first half — five field goals, all of which were three-pointers. Alicia Froling had six points at halftime ... and finished with 28 and 13 rebounds, extending her school record for double-doubles to 17 this season, and pulling to within two of the SMU career record of 38 shared by Shasta Smothers-Johnson and Janielle.
Video interviews coming shortly.

WNIT stands for Women's National Invitational Tournament. If you knew just a little about men's basketball you would know by looking at the heading that this thread is not about the men's team.
