against Klein on Monday and then 36 against Silsbee yesterday. He is averaging over 30 pts/game and I believe he is leading the Houston area in scoring.
Jon Killen had a nice game yesterday scoring 19 against FW Dunbar (#1 in 4A) at the Whataburger Tournament. Dunbar beat A. Martin 69-50.

Sounds like Coach Dement has a couple of strong players coming in!

Jon Killen was named to the 5A All-Tournament Team of the Whataburger tourney. That’s impressive because this tournament was filled with many quality players.

Hopefully, Roberts will be that scoring punch we so desperately lack as he poured in another 39 against Eisenhower on Friday.

we really do need another scorer on this team. I like the fact that we have 4 starters back next year, but last night definitely showed how badly we need another shooter/scorer.

we need another scorer? when I look at our lineup I don't see a single scorer that can be counted on nite after night to score. We don't have a single player who could be called a polished offensive player. I'd say we need about 2-3 scorers.

we've got 4 guys (Bhop, Isham, Castro & Simpson)who score pretty consistently and on any given night can give an opponent fits, but none are a threat to score in double figures EVERY night. If Roberts can come right in and provide a CONSISTENT outside shooting threat, this team could really be tough next year. There are plenty of very talented teams that are missing that one ingredient.

As I have mentioned, Roberts is very similar to Isham athletically but he’s a much more polished scorer. Anyone who can average 30 a game against 5A competition in the Houston area is a big-time scorer. I am hopeful he can come in and average double figures next year. Also, it may not appear so now, but Bennett can score too. He is still adjusting to the college game.

I agree with Stallion. With the ball in the hands of most of our guys from beyond the arc, I'm subconciously usually saying 'please go in,' and most of the time it doesn't. By contrast, most schools have one or two guys who when they spot up from beyond the arc I'm saying 'oh no not again...' and they drain the three.

Bennett was a good scorer at Georgia last year. He did have a good game earlier this year when he played most of the game. I believe he hit 6 of 7 three point shots in the San Diego game. If we aren't going to redshirt him, why isn't he being played more, especially when it was clear that we were being blown out of the game at the half.
Also, maybe a shakeup in our starters is in order to give a little shove to a few of these players. Missouri sat down Johnson and Paulding and it worked when they played Iowa. Yes I know that some will claim that we don't have their depth. However, when you have some potential players like Bennett sitting on the pine, it is time to give them a shot to prove themselves and motivate others!

I know I sound like a broken record but Roberts scored 34 tonight in a win over Stratford. It is very impressive for this kid to continually post 30 pt games playing in a very high level of HS basketball. If he continues at this pace he could get All-American consideration.

personally, I love hearing it. Finally, it looks like a big time scorer is on the way to SMU. Sure hope a lot of thoise points are coming from the perimeter and he's not a 33% shooter that's just taking tons of shots! Do you have stats on shooting percentage, including FTs and 3-pt shots?
