Also, on their board they say that it will likely come down to SMU and TCU. I'm sure UT will pursue him, but if he wants to come back closer to home it will likely be one of us.

I really hope we don't lose him to those Purple Toads. Adding Bolden and a Grad-transfer would be perfect. One for next year while the freshman develop and the other to replaces the grad-transfer and Semi (if he returns) for the following year.

Wonder if this is a case where our scholarship restrictions could actually help....we can definititely pitch playing time and a lot of it for a 6-11 big man. we haven't had a true rim protector since Yanick

I think that, outside of being close to home, is our biggest selling point. Regardless of Semi decision we will likely only have two bigs returning on the roster for 18-19 (lose Semi & probably a Grad-Transfer) and both of the returners are 6'7-6'8 and more 4's than a true 5. Tons of PT and can sell the Semi dream of come here, have a HUGE year, on a good team, and go pro.

EDIT: word is that Bolden hasn't made it official (Barstool jumped the gun,not shocked). However, most think he will transfer, unless Duke pulls of an amazing sales pitch.

looks like Semi followed the other Duke transfer Chase Jeter too-and don't forget possible graduate transfer Sean Obi

heck we could just sign all 3 and forget recruiting more than 1 in 2018-I endorse that strategy

Bolden's Mom apparently loved Duke during the recruiting process....as far as schools go, SMU is a lot like Duke- nice campus, private school, good academics, and Moody is like a miniature Cameron Indoor.

I do remember TCU made his final 3 or 4.., but as of right now TCU if full. Obviously they could clear space by forcing someone to transfer or if one of their commits doesn't qualify. I really hope Semi talks to him, because that along with the staff could really help close him.

Would hate to lose him to TCU. If TCU could land a player like that then I think it's safe to say there is another top basketball program in DFW.

this would be a hell of a grab.

Judging by TCU's board, not sure they even have a clue nor care

Recent success:
SMU - two NCAA tourney appearances and two conference championships in last three years. Ranked in the top 25 over 30 weeks the past three years. NIT runner up.
TCU - hasn't made the tourney since the 90s. NIT champions. Never finished above .500 in the Big 12. Ranked one week in past ten years.
Advantage - SMU

Attendance:
SMU - almost every home game is a sellout regardless of opponent.
TCU - around 3,000 per game unless they are playing Kansas.
Advantage - SMU

TV:
SMU - every game on the ESPN family of networks
TCU - you might get to play on FS1 sometimes.
Advantage - SMU

Conference:
SMU -AAC
TCU - Big 12
Advantage - slightly to TCU but when Bolden become eligible, Wichita St will be in the fold. SMU, Cincy, UConn, Memphis, Wichita St, Temple, UH and Tulsa. Not too far off from Kansas, UT, OU, Baylor, Iowa St, K-State and WV.

Cities:
SMU - Dallas
TCU - Cowtown
Advantage - SMU
