La Tech game

listening to the pre-game and seeing the strating lineup is not very encouraging. Lowe out with a shoulder injury and Simpson out after some oral surgery? Isham not starting, presumably because of his poor play of late. Chance for Pearson and Bennett to really step up today. I assume Rack will see a lot of minutes and Reay should get some action as well.

41-29 at half. Ugh.

maybe I've overestimated the talent on this team. We are a poor defensive team and one that has no consistent perimeter threat and no real low post threat. We've got a point guard who might be a terrific player if he had a better supporting cast, but hasn't shown he's the kind of point who can make the other guys better.

Corey Dean hits 7-8 FG in the 1st half? I don't remember this guy being mentioned as an all-WAC player. Our opponents must love to see SMU on the schedule. They know someone has a chance to have a career night.

I keep hoping this team is going to wake from the deep funk they seem to be in. Oh well, another half to play. Let's see if we make a run or roll over for another blowout.

Maybe Rack should hit Sumpson in the mouth every week,

had forgotten all about Brian Miller. If he and Isham can get back into the offense, this team just might rediscover themselves.

Miller has 3 of our 4 3 pointers. We have no one else who can shoot from outside. What has happened to Isham?

I am glutton for punishment to even have gone to the game...had to leave. Bunch of quitters for whatever reason....THe team gets dejected if they miss a shot and then don't get back on defense...Same ole' same ole'. The group didn't seem like it was hungry for a win even after getting embarrassed. We'll now be fighting for last in the WAC with Tulsa - who would have thought? What a joke.

Hopkins walks down the court very lazily and he really doesn't look like he even wants to be playing. Lowe is an average player but I think he balances things out...he will be missed. Isham is a ghost out there now - I am not sure what happened to him. We didn't get the ball down low all day to Castro. Millsap is going to be a stud and Dean just dribbled past players and jacked up shots at will. They have some athletic kids but they are sporadic.

This season is going to be a very long one and I don't see us beating anyone playing like this...watch out for losing the next 4-5 or so...I can't believe this team has actually gotten worse rather than better. Double digit loss to La Tech...WOW. Once again, we barely score 60pts.

Tuning out for while to watch some real hoops - ACC baby...

Have a good weekend folks.

what can you say about this game? we stink right now. the only good thing I can say about this game is that 9 guys scored. The problem is that it seems we need 4 guys in double figures to have any chance at winning. Simpson appears to be the only guy who played well today. it's ugly and getting uglier.

As Dement sais in post game, we don't play any defense. yet another team shoots better than 50% against us, while we hit only 4 of 22 threes.

We can't win if our PG turns it over 9 times and kills rallies. We hit 4 for 22 from 3 point range. Miller had 3 of the 4 so that tells us how well the starting group can shoot. You're right about the long season- It's beginning to feel a lot like football.

announcers made it sound like many of Bhop's early turnovers were because he was playing at a different speed than his teamates. He definitely needs to learn to play WITH his teammates. Those 9 turnovers and 4-14 shooting ain't gettin' it done.

Different speed? No, definetly not..just sloppy.
He rifled a past to Castro once but it was like a Peyton Manning firing to Harrison..

Isham 2 points today. Averaging 3 for past few weeks acc to announcers. Simp, Castro and Rack rebounded hard today. Miller hit some 3's. I can't think of anything else nice to say except have a nice weekend Pony fans.

Having witnessed this one in person there is not much that I can add to what has been already said, except that the sight of Copeland sitting next to Dr Turner and Jerry Ford with a big smile, and glad handing anybody he could find made me want to puke.

I, for one, think that Copeland needs to go even more than Dement, and it doesn't give me much encougement to see him buddy, buddy with Turner and the likes. I'm afraid Dement will be let go at the end of the season and Copeland will get yet another chance to hire a coach, even though Copeland himself doesn't want to be here (he applies for every job in the Continental U.S.).

One final point, Brian Miller was a plus today. He hustled, hit some big threes (even had one taken away from him when Isham fouled), and looked like he cared. For my money he should see considerable more action.

Again, the Turner/Copeland lovefest bothered me more than the outcome of the game.

I can only relate all this to the team closest to where I live..the Arkansas Razorbacks...If Broyles were sitting in the stands watching the Razorbacks play like the Ponies, he would definitely NOT be smiling. He would be embarassed and livid. And something would be done.

.......and Arkansas beat a top 25 team today, showing improvement in their young team as the season progresses.
