Phil Mayer @mayer_philip
Tim Jankovich says he would absolutely accept an NIT Tournament bid, if offered.

Will SMU actually get an invite? Or are we done for the season?

If we had beaten USF, we MAYBE would have gotten an NIT invite. Would have been close. With that loss I doubt it. UCF, Tulsa and Temple are all probably ahead of us in line for NIT bids from our own conference. Memphis too if they win today.

I wouldn't except a bid in either of the other two (one of which we are ineligible for).

Adam Grosbard @AdamGrosbard
SMU AD Rick Hart says that SMU will not accept CBI or CIT invitations, so it's NIT or bust for the Mustangs

Too many AAC teams more deserving than SMU but ESPN does love Moody

If we got an NIT bid, we would not be playing at Moody.

These guys are playing crippled and short handed, and we are going to subject them to another game or two? Don't think so. Don't hope so.

Let's save ourselves the agony and recognize that we don't have the man power. I don't want to lose to Southeastern Boise State.

Why not accept a CIT bid and start all the freshmen?

Because we are, and aspire to be a better program than that. Huge props for the AD publicly announcing that standard of excellence.

You think they’ll make us donate a mystery amount and then assign us seats for our CIT home home too?

We lived the cit life in 2011. We probably just don’t want to pay for it. Games are games. Nit, cit, whatever. I know cbi and cit are trash competition but it’s practice if u want it.

Memphis, Tulsa and possibly even Temple and UCF could be NIT candidates but as more conference champs from one bid leagues get bumped off in their tourneys and secure NIT invites, it's going to make those bids harder to come by
