NCAA Dumping the RPI

The more I read, the more I am thinking that scheduling becomes even more important. The 10 point cap on win margin means beating really crappy teams by 30 won't help - much better to beat mediocre teams by 8-9 points.

RPI did not consider margin of victory either so that aspect is not a change.

Looks like they have added margin of win into the equation this time - so it will be different.

Pretty sure that they have vetted the formula to ensure that it some how benefits top tier conferences.

Of course it will benefit the big programs.

Rankings systems are a sad attempt to justify ranking the big players in college sport.

Anything with an N in it that stands for NCAA will undoubtedly favor the big schools!

The 10-point cap really hurts with our cupcake schedule. I hope we beat them all by at least t0!
