Re: Dayton on the schedule -- home and homeHuge addition to the schedule. This game along with Arizona State, and the return games from Georgia, Vanderbilt, etc. is very welcome news! Let's hope we get another big game for the home schedule this season.
Re: Dayton on the schedule -- home and homeGood addition!
It will be great to get experience in their arena in case we make the FIrst Four! Shake It Off Moody
Re: Dayton on the schedule -- home and homegrew up near dayton. their school is one of the 'dirtiest' in bball. more so than NC state, L'ville, KY and others.
Re: Dayton on the schedule -- home and homeDayton fans looking forward to two easy wins.
A long tradition of existence.
Re: Dayton on the schedule -- home and homeThis is a solid add. Dayton may be one of the most underappreciated basketball schools out there, and it's a solid TV market.
Good job, team. Now go out and win.
Re: Dayton on the schedule -- home and home
My reaction is the same as the ASU series...Jank's SMU's team will likely have it's strongest roster for this road game and who knows what the roster will look like when Dayton comes to Moody?
Re: Dayton on the schedule -- home and homeNot going to be easy wins for Dayton or ASU, however much geezer might wish that were true.
Re: Dayton on the schedule -- home and homeI hope that the jacked up schedule will convince Mike and Hunt to stay around.
Re: Dayton on the schedule -- home and homeThe official announcement from SMU:
SMU And Dayton Announce Home-And-Home Series Starts At UD On 11-29-2020, Return Game At Moody Coliseum In 2021-22 DALLAS (SMU) – SMU men's basketball will play a home-and-home series against Dayton during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. The first game is at Dayton's UD Arena on Nov. 29, 2020 with a return game to Moody Coliseum in 2021-22. Last season, SMU finished 19-11 overall and 9-9 in The American. Kendric Davis, Tyson Jolly and Isiaha Mike were named to the All-American Athletic Conference Third Team. Davis was also on the NABC All-District Second Team. SMU led the AAC in scoring (72.9), field goal percentage (45.1%), free-throw percentage (76.2%, 25th NCAA), assists (15.6, 19th NCAA) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.2). Dayton adds to a non-conference slate that already includes home games with UNLV, Georgia, Vanderbilt and Evansville. UD went 29-2, won the Atlantic 10 regular-season title and was ranked No. 3 in the final AP Top 25. "We are very excited that Dayton has agreed to a home and home series," said Head Coach Tim Jankovich. "They were a serious contender for the national championship this past year before the season was cut short." The programs have met three times before. The last matchups were a home-and-home series in 2006-07 and 2007-08 that started in Dallas. The home team won each contest. The only previous meeting was an SMU victory in the Kentucky Invitational in Lexington during the 1956-57 season. PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.
