SMU is now at the Div 1 minimum - lose another and it's Div II.

I am just sick about SMU cutting its men's track program. If ever we had incentive to win in FB and BB, this is it. Losing leads to bankruptcy. Don't blame Title IX for our financial woes. Get better coaches and the problem goes away.

Yep, it's pretty simple. Just go out and hire a couple of high profile coaches and everything will be resolved. Oh wait; there's the problem of where the $10M plus needed for those coaches might come from. Remember, we had to ban many of our wealthy boosters who might have been willing to help provide those funds. The Death Penalty...the gift that keeps on giving!

I was thinking more about this - you think the problems are worse than they are leading us to believe? You think they are hiding things from us like the "real numbers" and deficits?

Actually, I don't. I do think there is more to what is going on than what they are telling us, but I don't think budgets or deficits are the real issue. Maybe I am a sucker, but I think there will be some more positive announcements over the next 12 months.

In order to run a better Fball and Bball program we need more money. To get some new majors, those have to be funded.

The People soft problem cost millions but I too think good announcments are on the way.
