Wilson Finalizes Staff With Additions of Anderson and Skalla
DALLAS (SMU) – SMU women's basketball head coach Toyelle Wilson completed filling her staff with the additions of Jared Anderson, Director of Media and Creative Content, and Graduate Assistant Calvin Skalla.
Anderson joins the SMU staff after spending two years as a graduate assistant in the athletic communications department at St. John's. His role included primary responsibilities for the women's volleyball, track and field, and cross country programs. Anderson has two bachelor's degrees from the University of Kansas in journalism and communication studies, graduating in May 2019. While at Kansas, Anderson worked as a creative and editorial intern for SLAM Magazine. He also worked as a communications intern for the ECHL's Kansas City Mavericks hockey team during his senior year.
Skalla graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in statistics and mathematics and a minor in sport and recreation management. While at Iowa, he spent two seasons as a manager with the women's basketball program, and also served as a research assistant for the university.
