Who are we cheering for (or against) tonight?

Now that I think about it further, we want Temple, I believe

Saw that we jumped Memphis. We are now in and they are the first out. A temple win helps us a bunch

I would say it is close. Since we beat Memphis twice, any win they get boosts us. The downside is that it probably boosts them ahead of us.

So, if you are looking at it from the perspective that the NCAA is going to take Houston and then either Memphis or SMU, it is good for Memphis to lose.

However, if you look at it that we want the highest NET score possible, Memphis continuing to win is good for us. It still is very much possible we both get in.

Therefore, I think its a toss-up, either outcome would be fine.

REALLY hard for me to cheer for any Memphis squad, especially hoops. I have gone to a few SMU @ Memphis games over the years, both football and basketball, and I would have to say they are the chippiest / most bitter / hateful / crude bunch my wife and I have ever encountered. Just flat nasty. Living in the shadow of UT / Ole Miss / Arkie all these years has made them the quasi red headed step child, and they hate that...so, when their hoops squad stumbles, or is threatened (bc that's all they really have going for themselves...), they get crazy, rude, nuts. Tell us how you really feel......I hope Temple smokes them so they can go away and prep for the NIT.

Several years ago my wife and I went to Memphis for a basketball game. I don't think I have ever been as nervous around a crowd of fans as I ever was. They were really rude and hostile toward us.

No question about it. We want Memphis to lose.

We also want Maryland to beat Indiana tonight and for TCU to keep losing.

Thank you, Terry Webster....right! We've had to move seats, told ushers about problems, encountered some real beauties...SO, the fact that we have won 12 of last 16 in hoops makes me so f''ing happy I can hardly stand it...whenever I travel to Memphis on biz, I ALWAYS wear my SMU stuff...they NEVER say anything, because in their heart of hearts, they know. PonyUP!

Doherty's brightest moment (maybe one of the only) was after a hard fought loss in Memphis, he got into a shouting match with the coaches and players saying they needed to remove their Final Four banner since it really didn't happen because they had to vacate it. said it was "bush league" to hang a banner you didn't earn.

I've heard that story, Shadowman...not only got into it with their players and coaches, but a bunch of their "high dollar", down low, season tickets types...real bush league environment in general.

This is true. But it's also hilarious to hear that particular criticism from a Heel. They hang laundry in the rafters for *everything,* including a mythical decades-later "championship" for the 1924 season that was awarded by a bread company, and--more on point for Memphis--three natty banners while they were cheating their a**es off.

I want as many NCAA tournament teams as possible especially from teams remaining in the conference after realignment so I’m pulling for Memphis. We need to keep winning no matter what and there are plenty of other bubble teams to cheer against including TCU.

I am now a little concerned that Oregon will come out of nowhere and take one of the last four in. And you know that our head to head with them will mean everything (unlike our head to heads vs. Memphis, which mean very little to people like Lunardi).

Good to see Belmont get destroyed last night. They should be out of the pic now.

Unfortunately Indiana won.
