SMU To Host Tennessee Tech Thursday In WNIT First Round
DALLAS (SMU/WNIT) – The SMU women's basketball team will host Tennessee Tech Thursday at 7 p.m. in Moody Coliseum in the first round of the WNIT Tournament.
The Mustangs finished tied for fourth in the American Athletic Conference with a 7-7 record in league games and posted a 14-14 record overall. SMU earned its first conference tournament win since 2017, defeating Temple before losing to eventual champion No. 25/24 UCF in the semifinals.
Savannah Wilkinson leads the team with 13.5 points and led The American with 13 double-doubles. The transfer was named to the All-American Athletic Conference team along with senior Kayla White. White finished the regular season with 13.1 points per game.
This is the eighth WNIT appearance for the Mustangs. SMU advanced to the third round of the 64-team bracket in 2017, its last postseason appearance.
