Per a report on TV during the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

Did he successfully recruit in the Metroplex during his tenure at Texas?

If Penders is headed to Houston, and if Gillispie ends up at A&M, where does that leave Larry Eustachy? Any other openings he'd be considered for, or does he sit out another year in Ames?

If Gillespie leaves UTEP, Eustachy would complement Coach Price nicely.

I seem to recall he got quite a few players from the East rather than Texas. The only guy I can recall that was from the Dallas area that was recruited by him and of significance was Carlton Dixon, who went to St.Marks and then transferred to Lincoln his last year. Im sure there were other but I remember him because there was a such a big deal about him transferring from St.Mark's.

Punchlines aside, they're both very good coaches.

We've already got a candidate with a history, Jeff Jones. If we hire him we'd better lock up the cheerleaders. I'm sure that Jones is Copeland's favorite, but he isn't the only one on that committee. Jones did recruit some studs (some say thugs) at UVa, but was booted out because of the cheerleader factor, his players had some run-ins on campus, and that he couldn't seem to beat the Tobacco Road teams.

I don't see any drawbacks... the cheerleaders don't go near Moody, the cops are patrolling Frat Row scrutinizing their water bills, and we don't play anybody on Tobacco Road. Still prefer Tubbs, though.
