The Denton paper says UNT's coach wants to extend the series with SMU, but Lanier sounds like he has no interest in that. I don't blame him -- it's a lose-lose deal for us.

We should continue this series and should also play TCU and UTA every year. A local series of games would be nice given the travel this team will have as members of the ACC

There is validity on both sides.

The "lose-lose" argument makes sense -- if we beat them, we're "supposed" to beat them and gain nothing, and if we lose, we're embarrassed.

On the other hand, as someone who rarely has the ability to hop a flight to see my team play, games against UNT and TCU represent the best chances for me to see a road game.

Besides, we can't beat the Mean Green and the Frogs if we don't play them ... and it's so enjoyable to beat them!
