Let's all hope that along with the announcement of the new coach that there is an announcemnt of the start to upgrade b'ball facilities. I also hope the coaches contract is short term. I have heard all year that we have great talent and it is Dement's fault so we should expect to be a Top 30 club next year if you are all right and Tubb's is a great coach. Let's all pray that you are right but keep our commitments short.

Dont put words in my mouth OP. This program still lacks inside strength. The rebounding was a real problem last year. That has to be fixed through recruiting mainly. Next year should be a fun year, but I am not among those that thought Dements Xs and Os were the problem here.

Not sure too many people said we have "great talent" - this year was disappointing but I certainly didn't expect to win the WAC against the Juco U's. Scoring was one of the biggest problems but things got a bit better with Lineburg. Dement was definitely part of many problems that plague this bball program. Top 30 program? Not too sure about that either. Simpson/Castro have to step it up big next year for any success.
We can all agree renovations are desperately needed soon. I am not sure if the "All Sports Center" will include nice bball courts?

I still don't think Moody needs a major facelift. Some upgrades here and there (like a new scoreboard, for sure), but the place remains a very intimate atmosphere for a game that is one of the best places I've ever been to see a game. And I've been in a lot of arenas. If Coach Tubbs can recruit like we hear he can, he'll have stud players winning games, and Moody will be rocking once again, and you won't hear any more about major changes to the facility.

Actually Hoop, I wasn't talking about you. You have been pretty balanced and we agree much more than we disagree- ususally our disagreements are only a matter of degrees. I too thought Dement had to go because he obviously lost this team. We do have the best talent that we have had in at least 10 years though and a lot of game experience. If Tubbs doesn't get this turned around to at least the NIT next year, I think it will be a long time before he does. I am encouraged by the large turnout from DISD today and, hopefuloly, this is the first step into making SMU Dallas' team. That is a huge load to put on Tubbs but it is the main reason I think he is a good hire.
