SMU Athletics Receives $1 Million Gift From Pratt Family To Support The Men's Basketball Program

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Athletics is thrilled to announce a $1 million gift from Jodi and Kenneth Pratt to support the SMU men's basketball program. This donation will help fund the renovation of the locker room and coaches' offices and is made in support of new head men's basketball coach Andy Enfield. In recognition of this generous gift, the team tunnel entering David B. Miller Court at Moody Coliseum will be named the Pratt Family Team Tunnel.

"We are immensely grateful to the Pratt Family for their significant contribution," said SMU President R. Gerald Turner. "Their support exemplifies the commitment of our community to advancing SMU's athletic programs and ensuring our student-athletes have top-notch facilities."

Director of Athletics Rick Hart added, "The Pratt Family's generosity is a testament to their belief in the future of SMU basketball. This gift will play a crucial role in elevating the program's competitiveness as we embark on our inaugural season in the Atlantic Coast Conference under Coach Andy Enfield."

"We are incredibly grateful to the Pratt Family for their unwavering support and commitment to our men's basketball program," said Brad Cheves, Senior Vice President for Development and External Affairs. "This gift enhances our facilities and reinforces our dedication to providing the best resources for our student-athletes."

The $1 million gift will kick-start a campaign aimed at boosting the competitiveness of the SMU men's basketball program through enhanced facilities, top talent recruitment, and additional resources. The gift sustains the momentum of the Mustang Club's fundraising efforts and adds to the robust community support of a $125 million fundraising campaign to support ACC transition efforts.

Coach Enfield expressed his gratitude, saying, "This investment in our program is a game-changer. We are excited to start this new chapter in the ACC and look forward to the bright future ahead."

***Note the comment that the donation "will help" suggesting costs may exceed $1 mil. Could be some pretty impressive locker rooms and coaches' offices
