SMU Head Basketball Coach Andy Enfield Has Named Zach Chu As Chief Strategist
DALLAS – Zach Chu has been named Chief Strategist for Men's Basketball by Head Coach Andy Enfield.
"We want to be forward thinking as we navigate the rapidly changing landscape of college basketball," stated Enfield. "We believe leveraging analytics to inform our decision making across our program, from portal management to player development to game strategy and this hire positions us for sustainable success as we enter the ACC."
A native of Dallas, Chu brings nine years of experience in the NBA to the newly formed role with the Mustangs, including the past three seasons on former Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle's staff with the Indiana Pacers as Manager of Game Strategy and Analytics. Indiana reached the Eastern Conference finals this past season for the first time since 2014.
"The level of excitement at SMU is incredible," said Chu. "The opportunity to develop a platform for Coach Enfield and our staff which aligns strategy and data to meet the challenges of a modern college program is extremely exciting."
