IN-SEASON TOURNAMENT TITLE

SMU wins the Acrisure Holiday Invitational (defeated Cal Baptist 79-77 and Washington State 77-60)

This is SMU’s first in-season event title since the 2019-20 Southwestern Showdown. SMU went 4-0 in the round-robin event vs. Jackson State, UNLV, Hartford and Abilene Christian. This is the first in-season tournament format since the 2015-16 Las Vegas Classic (defeated Kent State, Colorado).

SMU RUNS AND GETTING IN FRONT

SMU had a 7-0 run to take its first lead at 41-39 at 15:22 2nd half on a pair of FTs by B.J. Edwards
Total was run 18-5 to take a 52-44 lead with 9:12 left

SMU also had a 7-0 run early in the 2nd half to tie the game 34-34 on a dunk by Samet Yiğitoğlu at 17:56 2nd half

SMU outscored Washington State 50-29 in the 2nd half
