North Garland guard Elbie Gates has given an oral commitment to SMU.

Gates, a junior, was the District 12-5A most valuable player. He led the district in points (16.0 ppg) and rebounding (8.5 rpg).

Gates also considered Vanderbilt, Kansas State and Stephen F. Austin.

Keep going Tubbs. Looks like I need to see about buying season tickets.
