If I am not mistaken, they are the only "for profit" university that plays NCAA sports. Every so often, I see commercials for the school on television.

According to Wiki, they are trying to buy back their school from "investors."

You're right, Digetydog: it is a "for profit" school, and if the numbers I heard — roughly 70,000 students paying something like $15,000 in tuition — are anywhere close to correct, it's safe to say the coaches won't have to go out and raise funds for things like field lights, as Hyndman did when Westcott Field was built. He's a great coach who I assume will do well.

I have a couple colleagues who teach at GCU and think it's a fantastic place. Times they are a changing. We are dinosaurs.
