W-Soccer: 2015 Signing Day

Postby DanFreibergerForHeisman » Thu Feb 05, 2015 8:00 pm

As requested, here are the confirmed NLIs for women's soccer this season:

Blair Thorpe - 5'8" MF - Frisco, TX (Dallas Sting/Frisco HS)
Haley Thompson - 5'9" D - Lone Tree, CO (Real Colorado/Regis Jesuit HS)
Catie Brown - 5'9" GK - Sacramento, CA (San Juan/St. Francis HS)
Kat Wood - 5'7" D - Castle Pines, CO (Real Colorado/Rock Canyon HS)
Katie Carr - 5'7" MF - Danville, CA (Pleasanton Rage/Monte Vista HS)
Hannah Fleet - 5'10" F - Halifax, Nova Scotia (Halifax City/Citadel HS)

I would expect instant impacts from Fleet and Thorpe.

Fleet is a big forward who has scored a TON of goals at every level she has played.

Thorpe plays on the Dallas Sting team that won the ECNL U17 national championship last season and is 13-0-1 so far this year at the U18 level.

Also, Catie Brown has a chance to make a contribution with the goalkeeping situation heading into next season. Thompson also has a good chance as a left defender.

All in all, a nice class with all solid players. Hopefully, they will all contribute to the team taking a step up this season.

There very well be more by the time all is said and done.

Go Mustangs!

Thanks. I hope the best for these young ladies. Only one name missing from my wish list.

Sof vs Oaks Christian: http://youtu.be/Ls7RAa9M3zs

This is of a friend of mine's daughter who signed with Oregon. I never approached the family, but told SMU coaching about the player. She was even in Dallas in a tournament. A really good person. Wish SMU would have offered and tried.
