Equestrian: Megan Southam Joins Staff

SMU has filled the vacant hunt seat coach position with Megan Southam.

Megan Southam joins the SMU equestrian coaching staff, head coach Carol Gwin announced today. A former National champion at the University of Georgia, Southam gained valuable experience working and training with some of the best in the world.

During her riding career at Georgia, Southam helped lead the Bulldogs to an NCEA National Championship in 2014 as well as a winning the 2015 Southeastern Conference Championship while serving as a team captain. Southam competed in equitation on the flat and over fences at Georgia.

“Megan will bring our team both competitive experience as a student-athlete as well as great coaching. She was the perfect candidate to provide us with the best of both worlds,” Gwin stated.
