SMU Falls In Late Night Battle Against TCU
DALLAS (SMU) — After waiting out a three-hour weather delay, the SMU women's soccer program fell to TCU 1-0 in the early hours of Monday morning inside Washburne Stadium.
Kickoff was originally scheduled for 9:05 p.m., but due to lightning in the area followed by a downpour of rain, the match began at 11:59 p.m.
SMU did not let the weather or the late start disrupt its defensive mindset. The Mustangs withstood 18 shots (4 on goal) from the Horned Frogs, only allowing one goal.
The Mustangs had a pair of shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net.
SMU moved to 4-2-0 on the season, while the Horned Frogs now hold a record of 4-1-0.
