Castillo Named C-USA Offensive Player Of The Week
Earns Second Consecutive Honor

IRVING, Texas (SMU) - SMU men's soccer player Juan Castillo earned his second consecutive Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week award. Castillo collected two goals and an assist as the Mustangs won the Bradley Tournament over the weekend. SMU improved to 7-0-0 on the season.
Castillo continued his incredible play as he guided SMU to two wins and Bradley Tournament championship. After falling behind 2-0 to No. 16 Creighton on Friday, Castillo started the SMU comeback with a breakaway in the 69th minute. He also drew the call to earn the PK in overtime for SMU. SMU converted to win the game, 3-2. Sunday, Castillo once again helped lead a Mustang comeback as he got SMU on the board in the 40th minute to tie the game at one. Castillo also assisted on the game-winner for the 3-1 victory over Bradley. Castillo was named tournament MVP for his efforts and is currently in the middle of a five-game goal-scoring streak.
He leads the team in goals (6), points (13) and game-winning goals (3). Castillo earns his second consecutive and second career weekly honor.
SMU heads to the UAB Tournament in Birmingham, Ala., Sept. 24-26. The Mustangs open conference play Friday, Sept. 24 against UAB. SMU faces Jacksonville Sunday, Sept. 26.
