Men's Soccer - SMU vs. UAB

SMU has an absolutely HUGE C-USA battle against UAB this Wednesday at Westcott. 7pm. Be there.

A quick look at the conference standings shows how crucial this one is:

1. 15 (5-1-0) South Carolina
2. 12 (4-1-0) UAB
3. 10 (3-1-1) UCF
3. 10 (3-1-1) SMU
5. 10 (3-2-1) Marshall
6. 9 (3-3-0) Memphis
7. 4 (1-5-1) FIU
8. 3 (1-5-0) Kentucky
8. 3 (1-5-0) Tulsa

Hopefully the team will have a ton of support on what should be a beautiful evening for soccer.

SMU is 13th in the RPI and UAB is now 14th (up 10 spots from last week).

Wow - I saw SMU at 13 and didn't even notice UAB is 14! Tomorrow night's game is going to be awesome...

I hate to say it but it really sucks that the Rangers game is at the same time. Crowd will be small.

Guess I am bad luck. Tough 1-0 loss.

Lots of chances in the second half. couldnt seal the deal. They need to recruit someone taller than 5'7".

Early on you got the feeling UAB was going to score off a corner at some point and they did.

SMU had some absolutely amazing chances in the second half and unfortunately did not find the back of the net.

The closest chance came from Ivo who hit the crossbar on one of his patented free kicks from around 20 yards out.

It was just one of those nights.

Winning the regular season was a long shot but now it is certainly out of the question. Now it is about trying to win the conference tournament to have some momentum going into the NCAA Tournament (and helping our seeding obviously).

Only one more home game, right? I'll be there, and I'm bringing my boss's son, who started playing soccer this year. I had a blast at tonight's game, despite the final score.

What are the chances we host any NCAA games?
