"It’s hard to overstate how impressive SMU has been on the recruiting trail since the ACC announced the Mustangs would be joining the league”

what was the outcome of this game? I looked on FC's web page, SMU's web page, and read the DMN - couldn't find ANYTHING about this.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Yeah, they never have any press after these games, maybe it's just supposed to be a 'scrimmage' or something.

I went to the game, FC Dallas won 2-1, and the shots on goal were 6-1, I believe.

I couldn't tell you anything about our players, they didn't wear numbers and I can't recognize any of them by face. I don't know much about soccer, but our guys seemed quick and played pretty good defense.

FC Dallas is thought to have the most potent offense in Major League Soccer. For a college team -- especially a college team that just lost defenders of the caliber of Ugo Ihemelu and Ross Spencer and a goalkeeper like T.J. Tomasso -- to hold FC Dallas to 6 shots and 1 goal is incredible. This is like Illinois or Michigan State or Louisville playing the Mavericks and holding them to 65 points.

I would have included North Carolina on that list but we all know Roy Williams has never taught defense. (If Matt Doherty -- who recruited all of UNC's players -- was still the Heels' coach, they'd be on the list. But that's a different argument for a different day.)

Schellas Hyndman and Brent Erwin are the best coaching tandem in the country, bar none.

Anyone know if Carlos Ruiz suited up for FC Dallas against us? To stop Eddie Johnson (Who after 8 games with the National team is already tied for third in goals scored) and Carlos Ruiz (Single handedly has pushed Guatemala into WC consideration) would be amazing.

Can only expect amazing things from our side!

I dont think Ruiz played in that game. Fairly sure he didnt. Didnt Guatemala have a game with the US, at about the same time? I know he played in that game, the TV coverage featured him several times.

I am pretty sure it was the FC Dallas B team we played. Johnson was playing with the National team that week in two games, Mexico and Guatamala. Either way, its good to see our guys going head to head with pro players and holding their own. I hope this is the break through year where we make a big move in the tournament and win the hold cotton picking thing.

Good point...FC Dallas would have been without Johnson and Ruiz due to national team duties.

Also would point out that FC Dallas just crushed University of Tulsa 4-0 and again didn't use any of their stars.
