Ponies welcome TCU, Oklahoma to Westcott Field

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's soccer team will serve as host for its final two spring games. The Mustangs face TCU at 10 a.m. this Saturday, April 16, and Oklahoma at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 23. Both games will be held at Westcott Field on the campus of SMU. There is no admission charge to attend the games, which are subject to change without notice and are "weather permitting."
"It’s hard to overstate how impressive SMU has been on the recruiting trail since the ACC announced the Mustangs would be joining the league”

How did the Ponies do against the little froggies this morning? There's nothing on the SMU website about it.

Now there is:

Women's soccer ties TCU, 2-2
Kimber Bailey, Olivia O'Rear score for Ponies

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's soccer team posted a 2-2 tie against visiting TCU Saturday morning at Westcott Field on the campus of SMU.

In the first half, SMU drew first blood as WAC Freshman of the Year Kimber Bailey posted a goal at the 12:03 mark. With just over two minutes left in the half, Olivia O'Rear's penalty kick was stopped by TCU goalkeeper Ashley Pierret.

In the second half, TCU knotted the game at 1-1 on a successful penalty kick by Karissa Hill at the 60:46 mark after an inadvertant Mustang hand ball was called in the box. SMU regained the lead nine minutes later when O'Rear tapped in an open-net shot off a feed from Kimber Bailey. But 60 seconds later, TCU's Moran Lavi drilled a long shot which angled into the lower right part of the net past SMU goalkeeper Amy Bennett.

SMU closes out its spring season with a home contest against Oklahoma next Saturday, April 23. Gametime is set for 3:00 p.m at Westcott Field.
