SMU M-Swim: Signee Klein Named All-America Diving Champion By NISCA

DALLAS (SMU) - SMU swimming and diving signee Bryce Klein was named the All-America diving champion by the NISCA, the organization announced this week.
Klein, a native of Southlake, Texas, is now a four-time high school All-America, earning the honor each year in high school. He is the 2012 USA Diving Junior National Champion in the three-meter dive and was a finalist at the 2012 Olympic trials. He finished sixth in the three-meter dive at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships. Klein is a two-time US Junior national champion and a two-time medalist with the US World Junior team.
In 2013, Klein won the one-meter at the Texas Invite, both the one- and three-meter events at the USA Diving Spring Junior Region 8 Championships and also won both at the Junior West National Championships.
He is the son of Krista Wilson Klein, who was an All-America and a two-time NCAA Championship and six-time Southwest Conference Champion at SMU. During her career, she also was a three-time U.S. Senior National Champion and member of the United States National Diving Team from 1988-94. She was the winner of the 1991 NCAA Diver of the Year Award, the 1990 and 1991 Dallas All-Sports Association Champions Award, the 1990 and 1991 SWC Scholar/Athlete award, the 1991 GTE Scholar/Athlete award, the 1991 Southwestern Methodist University Scholar/Athlete award, the 1991 Texas woman of the year award, the 1991 NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship award and 1992 Who's Sam Award - exemplifying Integrity, Sportsmanship and high Moral Character.
