Remember going to see SMU vs. USC at Perkins my freshman year. We beat them on the final relay. What a meet. John Nabor fresh from Olympic gold anchored the Trojans and got passed by Paul Tietze.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Or, at the very least, STORE the Moody water in a beer bottle. Milk container? You serious?

One of my lasting memories at SMU was when the Mustang's beat Indiana and stopped their duel meet streak...probably one of the Top Ten sporting events in SMU history!

The swim team always seemed be the most close-knit groups on campus.

A very underrated athletic achievement in SMU's history, no doubt.

The Perkins Natatorium is one of the more historic pools still standing in the United States. The pool’s record board is littered with some of the greats in the history of swimming in the United States."

They had a hot group of female supporters at one time. Believe they were called the Naids.

Evidently the building and mold in the building caused Perkins to be deemed unsafe.

LAGNAF still lives on though...

Red Barr was the greatest coach I ever had and he was my little league coach in my first year of baseball. He was truly "special" as so many of us remember. Sad to see Perkins Nat go.

I have seen some really cool photos of basketball games played in Perkins Gym. Also, some pictures of pep rallies with the bleachers packed with gung-ho students. I know all of the photos, clock/timer, record boards will make the trip to the new facility which will be a fitting tribute to all who made Perkins history.
