SMU LAX receives votes in MCLA Poll - Week 1 - February 25th.

The Mustangs are an emerging force in College Club LAX. Nice.

Just finished watching a dominating performance at the Patriot Cup supporting the Wounded Warrior Project.

SMU 20
A&M 8

The mustangs controlled the face off X, had an extremely effective ride, executed their offensive sets well and limited the Aggie chances in 6 on 6 situations. Stay out of the penalty box boys and keep your composure. You'll be tough to beat.

Would love to see your thoughts on the game boston pony. I haven't seen us play what I would call a quality team yet. SC will be a great game.

Guys to watch - 10 - all conference LSM, 15 - all conference D

Goal scorers: 7, 8, 14, 19, 21, 32

Some of you were asking how SMU would do against a d1 team...

UT is a top fifteen club team each year. They played mercer last weekend in Atlanta.

Mercer is 55 out of 67 team on laxpower which is a respected power ranking website.

Mercer beat UT 13-2.

D1 teams give scholarships, have facilities, full time coaches, strength and conditioning, provided equipment, and 40 recruited players.

Club is still pay to play. The UT and SMU guys pay 1500 or so to play a year.

The sport has exploded in popularity. It's a shame title nine is preventing the growth of the game at the division one level.

I suspect with title 9, smu could have a school sponsored men's lacrosse team provided they have a women's sponsored lacrosse team. I believe smu already has the minimum number of division 1 teams hence adding lacrosse will increase the sports financial deficit to the university. I'm not opposed to a lacrosse team, just trying to see the university's point of view.
meanwhile, it is very impressive what smu's men lacrosse team has accomplished.
