Rachael Forish earns C-USA cross country Athlete of the Week honors

Sophomore from Arlington wins individual title at last weekend's meet

DALLAS (SMU) - Congratulations go out to SMU sophomore Rachael Forish (Arlington, Texas) who earned this week's Conference USA Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors after she claimed medalist honors to lead the Mustangs to the team title at the Movin' Mavs Challenge in Arlington, Texas, last Saturday.

The sophomore covered the two-mile course in 11:10 to pick up the victory in front of her hometown. Forish was a Footlocker All-American her senior season at Lamar High School in Arlington.

In this week's rankings, the Mustangs are third in the South Central Region rankings behind Arkansas and Baylor and 31st nationally as reported by FinishLynx. SMU is the lone Conference USA representative listed in the national rankings.
"It’s hard to overstate how impressive SMU has been on the recruiting trail since the ACC announced the Mustangs would be joining the league”

Is that a press release? I've never seen a press release that starts with "Congratulations go out to ...."
Normally, the ones I've read say something like "here's what happened, and hopefully you (the reader) will think it's exciting/important enough that you will feel compelled to celebrate, congratulate, etc.
Interesting writing style, huh?
