Katie White (5-6, A&M Consolidated High School, College Station, Texas)

White, who graduated early from A&M Consolidated High School and is currently enrolled at Baylor, comes to the Bears after a stand-out career with Challenge FC in Houston. The Baylor freshman, who only played club soccer at the high school level, is currently a member of one of four ODP regional teams in the country. White's step-father, Phil Bennett, is currently the head football coach at SMU.

Katie (White) is a member of the ODP regional team and we are excited about her arrival at Baylor," Van Linder said. "Even though she just enrolled at Baylor, it is obvious she is a fighter and has the type of attitude and approach we need."

Was she even offered by our soccer team? At least she didn't go to A&M or UT.

I don't believe she was (offered by SMU). Coach Cossaboon had one scholarship to give, and the girl he got from St. Louis is supposed to be extraordinary. Whether she's better than Katie White .... I have no idea. Hope Katie enjoys a lot of success (unless SMU plays Baylor, of course), and I'm sure she'll enjoy playing for Coach Van Linder, who is a fantastic guy.

Nah, that shouldn't have been a problem. I knew a guy that I went to elementary school with(he was also my freshman brother) whose mom married a professor in the Geology Department during his freshman year at TCU and he was able to get free tuition, so he transferred to SMU.
