SMU/DISD Track All Americans
Posted: Thu May 11, 2006 9:41 pmNice blurbs in todays DMN School Day about Michael Carter(Thomas Jefferson) and Roy "Robot" Martin (Roosevelt) both track All Americans and Olympians while at SMU in the 80's. Carter still holds the national high school shot put record and Robot holds the national high school record in the 200 meters. As in Basketball, the Dallas area turns out high quality Div. 1 track stars every year many of whom such as Carter are also football stars. Giving up track at SMU was a terrible, shortsighted mistake.
