SMU had to rely on a late PK to top winless Missouri-Kansas City. Sounds like we were not up for this game after a solid victory against tough St. Louis on Friday night.

Kansas City, Mo. - The third-ranked SMU men's soccer team came away with a 2-1 victory over UMKC Sunday afternoon in Kansas City, Mo. With the win, SMU improves to 10-0-1 on the season while the Kangaroos remain winless with a 0-8-1 record.

SMU got on the scoreboard early in the first half as Jordan Mann scored at the 9:22 mark with the assist credited to Scott Geppert. In the second half, UMKC knotted the game at the 64:24 mark with a goal scored by Kyle Perkins. It was only the third goal SMU has given up in 1,018 minutes of play this season. SMU posted the game-winning goal at the 77:46 mark when senior Mynor Gonzalez connected on a successful penalty kick.
