Mustang Swimmers Race At FINA World Championships

Former swimmer advances to finals
March 26, 2007

MELBOURNE, Australia (SMU) - Petra Klosova represented her country and SMU today as she competed in the 100 back at the 12th FINA World Championships that are being held in Melbourne, Australia.

Klosova finished 29th in the 100 back with a time of 1:03.40. In the 1500 free, Flavia Rigamonti, a recent Mustang, placed seventh with a time of 16:19.33 and qualified for final which will be tomorrow.

The Mustangs will not swim again till the fifth day when Klosova will compete in the 100 free. She posted a qualifying time of 56.39 and will be swimming in the 15th heat in lane three. Moravcova will swim in the 16th heat also in lane three. She registered a qualifying time of 54.84.

On the sixth day, Moravcova will be in lane one of the 12th heat of the 500 fly. She posted a qualifying time of 27.09. In the 800 free, Rigamonti will swim in the sixth heat in lane three with a qualifying time of 8:30.51. Klosova will conclude the competition for the Mustangs on the seventh day in the 50 free. She will swim in the 14th heat in lane seven with a qualifying time of 26.26. Moravcova will also swim in the 50 free as she will be in the 17th heat in lane seven. She posted a qualifying time of 25.41.
