IRVING, Texas (SMU)--SMU women's swimming and diving swept the conference's weekly awards for the week of Oct. 30, with senior Anja Carman winning Swimmer of the Week and freshman Audra Egenolf winning Diver of the Week.
Carman helped lead the No. 10 Mustangs to a second-place finish at the 14th annual SMU Women's Swimming and Diving Classic last weekend, by tallying an impressive 52 points. Carman won the 200 backstroke in 1:58.20 and took second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:19.59. She also claimed third place in the 100 backstroke (55.91) and took fourth in the 200 fly (2:04.57). The weekly honor is the third of Carman's career and her first of the young season.
Egenolf won both the one-meter (275.35) and three-meter (283.35) boards at the Swim Classic, with both scores qualifying her for NCAA consideration. The freshman defeated divers from Wisconsin, Florida State, Alabama and Texas A&M, earning High-Point Diver of the Meet accolades.
The Mustangs are back in action Nov. 9 as they play host to Wyoming and North Texas at 6 p.m. at Perkins Natatorium. For the complete schedule and results, log on to SMUMustangs.com.
