Congrats to Alex Hetland!

DEBRECEN, Hungary (SMU)--Alex Hetland won the silver medal in the 50m breast Saturday at the European Short Course Championships in Debrecen, Hungary. This is the second medal Hetland has won at the European S.C. Championships, and the first this year.
Hetland took first in the preliminary heat, touching the wall in 26.93. In the semifinals, he came in fourth, clocking a time of 27.14. In the final, Hetland touched the wall in 26.95, just two tenths of a second behind the gold medalist, earning him his first silver medal at the European Short Course Championships. Last year, Hetland won bronze in the 100m IM.
Hetland also competed in the 100m IM, finishing seventh in the qualifying heats in 54.99. He qualified for the semis, but opted not to swim.
