Kraft is One of Four C-USA Golfers Named All-Region

NORMAN, Okla. (SMU)--Freshman golfer Kelly Kraft was one of four Conference USA golfers named to the PING All-Region team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America Friday.
Kraft picked up South Central region honors after being named 2008 C-USA Freshman of the Year. Kraft tied for 14th place at the C-USA Championship and was the only rookie to earn all-conference honors. Earlier in the spring, Kraft earned medalist honors at the 23rd Annual Louisiana Classic and posted two runner-up finishes.
The PING All-Region teams consist of the top 15 individuals in their region in the Individual Ranking System. Additionally, any player ranked in the top 75 according to Golfstat or the Sagarin rankings not included in their region's top 15 are added to their All-Region team. Members of the PING All-Region teams are also eligible for PING All-America honors.
SMU, the only Division I athletic program in Dallas, Texas, sponsors 17 sports and has been ranked as the top school in its conference for 10 straight years in the Director's Cup overall athletic rankings.
