Ponies Outscore Prairie View A&M 75-43 In Sweep

WACO, Texas (SMU) --- The SMU volleyball squad improved to 2-1 with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-19) sweep of Prairie View A&M in the Baylor Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore co-captain Kathryn Wilkerson and freshman Dana Powell were named to the All-Tournament team as SMU finished second to host Baylor.
Twelve Mustangs saw action as SMU outscored the Panthers 75-43 for the match. Wilkerson led the Ponies with eight kills and four aces. Powell had seven digs, three kills, and a block. Natalie Peters, Kendra Kahanek, and Adrienne Zielasko each had two blocks. Senior Stefanie Kons had 13 assists and freshman Sidney Stewart had a team-high 11 digs.
The Mustangs host UT-Arlington in the home-opener at Moody Coliseum on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. The Ponies then host the SMU Radisson Invitational Sept. 5-6 at Moody Coliseum with Montana, New Orleans, and Stephen F. Austin coming to the Hilltop.
