Senior Wins Fourth Career Honor

IRVING (C-USA/SMU) - SMU senior Kate Ackerson has been named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week for the period ending Sept. 30, the league announced today. Ackerson carded a final-round 74 and finished tied for fifth at the Badger Invitational at University Ridge Golf Course last weekend. Ackerson's three-round total of 220 (71-75-74) was just five shots back from the top finisher.
The Allen, Texas, native's performance was her second-straight top five finish after she tied for fourth place at the Wolverine Invitational earlier this season. This is Ackerson's fourth career honor, as she won twice in 2006-07 and once in 2007-08.
