Women's Golf Signs Pair Of Standouts
Espericueta, Wadhwa To Join Mustangs In The Fall
DALLAS (SMU) - SMU Women's Golf Coach Todd Selders has signed prep standouts Felicia Espericueta and Tanya Wadhwa to National Letters of Intent. The talented twosome will join the team in the fall of 2009.
Espericueta is ranked by the AJGA as the nation's No. 57 prospect, while the National Junior Golf Scoreboard ranks her 51st in the class of 2009. Espericueta has been a USGA Publinks qualifier and a USGA Amateur qualifier and advanced to match play in both events.
Wadhwa was the winner of the 2008 Texas Women's Open and was the low junior at the 2008 Women's Trans Amateur. She was also the low amateur at the 2007 Ladies Emaar MGF Masters (a European professional tour event), finishing 21st in the field of 80 pros. Additionally, she qualified for match play ay 2007 USGA Women's Amateur.
A thrilled Selders said, "I'm very excited about this signing class. These
are two of the highest-ranked players I have signed at SMU. Both of these players are very accomplished and will make an immediate impact on the program next fall. They will be tremendous additions to our young, but solid core of players."
