PROSTEJOV, Czech Republic (SMU) --- Former SMU tennis All-America Johan Brunstrom and teammate Jean-Julien Rojer won the Czech Open on Sunday. The duo won four matches without dropping a set en route to the title including a 6-2, 6-3 win over Pablo Cuevas and Dominik Hrbaty in the final.

"Johan and Julian came off a great showing at the French Open and backed it up with their first tournament title of the year," says SMU men's tennis coach Carl Neufeld. "This will give him a lot of confidence and momentum heading into Wimbledon."

Brunstrom is currently No. 41 in the ATP world doubles rankings, which is the highest of his career. Brunstrom and Rojer won their first-round match 6-1, 6-1 over Igor Andreev and Evgeny Korolev at the French Open on Thursday.

Brunstrom was an All-American at SMU in doubles in 2001 and 2002 as well as in singles in 2003. He won the 2001 ITA Indoor Doubles Champion with former Mustang great Jon Wallmark. Brunstrom was also the NCAA Doubles runner-up with Wallmark in 2001, the same year the team made the NCAA Final Four. Brunstrom then teamed with former SMU standout Eric Cohn as the duo finished runner-up at the 2002 NCAA Indoor Championship. Brunstrom was just the sixth SMU men's tennis player to become a three-time All-America.
