TULSA, Okla.- SMU women's soccer dropped a road match to the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles 1-0 on Friday to open the 2009 season. Natalya Manyan gave Oral Roberts their only goal in the 47th minute.
Logan May led SMU's offensive efforts with four shots, two of which were on goal. Nine players made their SMU debuts, and SMU started five freshmen. Both SMU and Oral Roberts had twelve overall shots and put two on goal. SMU earned two more corners than the Golden Eagles (6-4).
SMU will be back in action next Friday at #11 Oklahoma State. SMU will open its home schedule Sept. 4 when they host North Texas.
