Women's soccer falls at Oklahoma State

SMU Women's Soccer Falls to #21 Oklahoma State 4-0
Women Host Their Home Opener Sept. 4 Against UNT

Aug. 28, 2009

STILLWATER, Okla. - SMU could not leave Stillwater with a win, as they fell to the #21 Oklahoma State Cowgirls 4-0. The Mustangs fall to 0-2-0 on the season, but will finally get to play in the friendly confines of Westcott Field next Friday against Metroplex opponent North Texas.

Oklahoma State started the scoring in the 8th minute, when Annika Niemeier converted a penalty kick. Siera Stawser added the Cowgirls' second tally in the 23rd minute, to give the Cowgirls a 2-0 lead going into halftime. Kasey Langdon, scored in the 53rd minute, and Megan Marchesano scored in the 67th to give the Cowgirls their 4th goal.

Leslie Briggs led SMU's efforts with three shots. The Mustangs continued to give experience to their young players, as Kellie Bohner and Allegra Nigh made their SMU debuts.

The Mustangs will host North Texas in their home opener September 4th at 8 p.m. The game will be preceded by an Alumnae Game, which kicks off at 6 p.m.
